Rest In Peace

At 2PM today, Rocky succumbed to an aggressive form of Cancer of the Lungs. He was the best boy ever and I love him so much.

A supplement to Saturday; Thank you to everyone that has posted, sent a direct email, or mail. Your words are so very comforting.

In summary, Friday morning I took Rocky one of his two favorite places to go - Seneca Hill Animal Hospital. He so loved to go there - they treated him like their own. There they recognized what was going on. We transferred Rocky to SouthPaws Referral and Emergency Center where he stayed the night. By the next morning, he was in further distress and rapidly deteriorating. I was with him to the end as he crossed the rainbow bridge around 2pm EST.

We're so, so sorry for your loss. We can't find words to express how we feel for you. We enjoyed getting to know Rocky through your blog. What a great guy--you all were so lucky to have each other.

Peace.

The words we know in english are not enough to express how sad we feel to know about Rocky.
We loved him so much.
We know he is now free of pain and running around in heaven.
Please take care yourself.

Rocky is running with the angels now, having a blast, taking deep breaths of clean heavenly air. He is waiting for you there, checking out the accomodations, and will surely show you the way when it is your turn. We are so sorry for your loss, but know that the loss is only temporary and part of the journey that we all have in life.

The love and care that you gave to your Rockstar has certainly earned you a place there with him someday and when that day comes it will be a glorious reunion.

Hugs to you and your family from ours.

Carol, Aja, Flurry, Zoey, Georgie, Jack, Maya, and Midget.

My deepest sympathies, Mike, on the loss of your beautiful and beloved Rocky. You rescued Rocky from a bad situation, and made the rest of his life a very, very happy one. Your loving care and devotion surely enabled him to live a much longer, much fuller life. The happiest times of his day were the times he could spend with you. You ARE the person Rocky thought you were.

Rocky, I will miss seeing you at the window and on the stoop. You were a loving and loyal companion to your Dad and sister, and I know they will miss you terribly. Mati was looking for you yesterday morning, and is trying her best to console your heartbroken Dad.

I want to think of you having strong legs again, taking long walks, running after balls, and standing up to reach cookie boxes on top of all of the refrigerators (and, when no one is looking, showing all the other dogs up there how to open the fridge doors to get to the even better stuff). I truly will think of that bright shining star as RockStar from now on.

You will be in our hearts forever.

My Buddy
Memories of you are planted,
Deep within my heart.
You're my forever kind of friend
Even though we are now apart.

Through many years and days,
You became to me so dear.
Always sensed my feelings,
For me were always here.

You touched me with your loyalty,
Between us a bond did grow.
Little did I ever know.
That I would miss you so.

I'll cherish all these memories,
Which to me are, oh so dear.
Whenever I am feeling lonely,
My Buddy, they'll bring you near.
