One Foggy Morning at Fort Belvoir....

One Foggy Morning at Fort Belvoir, we stopped to contemplate life...

Everyone is well. I continue to go to physical therapy and Mati has a small spot on her leg that bothers her. We otherwise are well and continue to move through life the best we can. Thanks for everyone's emails and previous posts!

Life's Lessons

Number one: Keep your Dad or Mom from crossing the street at the wrong time.

Number two: Take time from your busy schedule to give thanks and contemplate life's mysteries.

Number Three: Give thanks to those who serve on your behalf...

... and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Physical Therapy - Part One

As promised, here is a pictorial of my under water treadmill - Physical Therapy session...

Here, Dad is helping me slip into my safety harness:

Then we had a surprise visitor! It's Chica Bonita!! Chica and I are buddies! You know Chica from here as well! (I once stole an artichoke pie and Chica ate it. We are good team mates like that!)

In the tank I go...

waiting for the water to get to the correct height and the exercise to begin!

And we're off and running! (Ok, just walking...) As you can see, the water is a little high today - to help me since I've been a bit sore lately.

Here you can see I'm doing 1.8 MPH at the 7:55 mark...

Overview perspective...

Hey! There's Chica!

Done! Now, just waiting for the water to drain...oh ho-hum... There's JoAnn in the background making room for me to get out and dry off before the Acupuncture session (A later pictorial).

Hello All! We're back!

Shoosh! What a couple of months it has been. So much to say and so little words!

Here goes: Dad has been busy (enough about him). Mahti and I have been rather busy ourselves! Mahti is holding down the fort as always, and most times quite literally. Gosh she sleeps a ton! Sometimes I have to go wake her up!

About me: (Isn't it always?) Still doing Physical Therapy (see our next blog for a report including pics!) and doing ok with it. I had a little setback recently and had to cut back on my walks *ouch!* I *LOVE* my walks! Well, Dad says we can still go, we just have to stay on the grass and walk at a pace that is good for me. We had all kinds of tests done too. Dad stayed with me the whole time too, what a troop-ah. More on that will follow.

About the girl: She's sleeping. Enough said.

Cherry Blossoms 2008: Unfortunately, the Blossoms were not in full bloom when we took the pictures, not to mention it was raining the other morning :-/

There's the famous Memorial Bridge in the background...

....and some crew going by...

And an abstract action shot!

And then here we are in front of the John Ericsson Monument. (I wasn't giving Dad a kiss, I was telling him a secret).

Thanks again for stopping by. Look for our next post on my Physical Therapy session!

Thank Goodness

Hello All! Dad says I've been bad at posting on my blog. But quite frankly, with Physical Therapy twice a week, exercises, walks, naps, bones, who has time? Dad's been working like crazy hours too. Almost every night now, Mahti and I go to bed without him - leaving him at the computer. Mahti starts warming the bed for Dad while I sleep on my blanket on the floor.

So here's a big thank you to Dad. I was chewing on my Nylabone while Dad was working on the computer as he says (but really, I think he was watching TV). Then Dad noticed that I wasn't chewing on my bone and I seemed to be in a frozen state, motionless... with my ears twisted toward the outside. He knew something was amiss.

He came over to me and got down on the floor and I told him something was wrong with my mouth. I didn't know what, but it didn't feel good. Dad got the flashlight and had me open my mouth wide, it wasn't good news I just knew it. Dad called his Doggy savvy friend Betsy and asked for support. She suggested looking for something out of the ordinary, but Dad couldn't find anything. Then, while holding my mouth open wide while Dad shined the light on each tooth, one at a time, there it was. Something jammed into my gums. Was it a broken tooth Dad wondered? He wiggled it a bit and it came out! I was so excited, I jumped up and ran to the kitchen for a treat!

So what was it? It appeared to be a part of the Nylabone Dad said. Then he said "no more bones for tonight". Sheesh.

That was just fine with me, as I needed to get some rest anyway! This is me on my new Couchy Goodness. Dad bought this sofa for me. I love it.

Mati and I are doing fine. More goodness will follow. Hope everyone is well!
